Shamly A. Abdelfattah

Shamly A. Abdelfattah is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Assistant Dean of Health Innovations and Collaborative Practice at the Appalachian College of Pharmacy. With over 20 years of pharmacy experience, he combines academic leadership with clinical expertise in medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetics, and infectious disease research.

• B.S. and PharmD in Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee
• Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry

His research focuses on analytical methods for iron preparations, protein binding/metabolism of methotrexate in pediatric oncology, and comparative efficacy of antibiotics for pneumonia. He has also developed pharmacokinetics software for drug dosing. As an educator, he teaches medicinal chemistry, clinical toxicology, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacotherapeutics.
