Dr. Shamin Golrokh is an Assistant Professor of Urban Design at the School of Urban Planning, College of Fine Arts, University of Tehran, where she has taught since 2016. Previously, she served as a lecturer at Shahid Beheshti University. She holds a BSc in Architecture (2004), MSc in Urban Design (2008), and PhD in Urban Design (2013) from Shahid Beheshti University.
Her research focuses on qualitative analysis of public space perception, emphasizing tactical urbanism and participatory design paradigms. Key research areas include:
- Urban space experiences and place identity
- Tactical interventions in urban environments
- Participatory approaches to urban design
- Collective memory in monumental spaces
Publications predominantly explore themes of place identity, environmental preferences, and socio-spatial transformations in Iranian urban contexts, with recent works examining collective memory in public spaces and criteria for public space assessment. She has also translated seminal urban theory works into Persian.
