Shakil Mahmud

Shakil Mahmud is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Mississippi. His research focuses on medical device security, embedded systems, and hardware security for cyber-physical systems. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (2015) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of South Florida (2023).

His recent work emphasizes enhancing safety and reliability in closed-loop medical systems through biosignal modeling, hardware emulation platforms (PEP), and trojan resilience strategies.
