Shailesh Shrestha is a Research Fellow at Scotland's Rural College (SRUC), affiliated with the Rural Economy, Environment and Society School and the Rural Development & Food Marketing department. His research focuses on agricultural economics, climate change impacts, farm management strategies, and policy analysis. He leads and collaborates on projects addressing greenhouse gas mitigation, livestock disease economics, and post-Brexit agricultural policies.

- - Leading the 'Support to economic modeling of agriculture' project.
- - Co-Investigator in studies like 'MEASURE: Environmental and economic impacts of antibiotics stewardship in poultry' and 'Sea lice management costs for farmed salmon'.
His recent publications analyze topics such as dairy farm efficiency, antimicrobial use in pig farming, and plant-based food system transitions. Shrestha is actively involved in policy-oriented research, including post-Brexit trade impacts and Scottish land-use policies.
He has collaborated with institutions like the University of Edinburgh and the Agriculture and Forestry University (visiting researcher, 2018–2021). Shrestha is open to supervising PhD students in farm management, climate adaptation, and modeling.
