Shahid Raza

Shahid Raza holds dual roles as Research Director of the Cybersecurity Unit at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and Professor of Cybersecurity at Mälardalen University, Sweden. He is also an Associate Professor (Docent) at Uppsala University and part of the Digital Futures Faculty, a joint initiative between KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University, and RISE. His primary research focuses on IoT security, secure interconnection of clouds and IoT devices, and threat intelligence at the edge of IoT networks.

Education: Industrial PhD in IoT Security from Mälardalen University (2013), Master of Science in Cybersecurity from KTH Royal Institute of Technology (2009).

Current supervision includes 4 PhD students, 2 postdoctoral researchers as main supervisor, and 2 PhD students as co-supervisor. Notable projects include CYPRESS (Cyber-Physical Resilient and Secure Systems) and CUSTODES (cybersecurity certification framework). His work has garnered 6,000+ citations across peer-reviewed publications.

Labs/Teams: Leads the Cybersecurity Unit at RISE, contributing to national cybersecurity initiatives through test environments like the Cyber Range. Engages in cross-disciplinary collaboration via Digital Futures to address societal challenges through digital technologies.
