Dr. Shahbano Khan is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader in Accounting and Finance at London Metropolitan University's Guildhall School of Business and Law. Previously, she completed her PhD in Accounting and Finance at London South Bank University and held roles as an associate lecturer there. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), emphasizing innovative teaching methods. Her teaching spans commercial banking, financial regulation, and empirical research in finance.
Her research focuses on sustainability accounting, risk management (including Value at Risk), and the intersection of accounting with social/environmental issues. Methodologically, she employs Bloomberg, SPSS, Python, and mixed-methods like interviews and archival research. Key areas include Pakistan's stock market dynamics, oil and gas sector analysis, and applying machine learning to financial data.
Dr. Khan has presented at major conferences including the International Conference on Education for Sustainable Development (2022) and the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (2023). Her work has been supported by international research grants. She actively engages in professional activities through BAFA and provides career consultancy to students.
