Dr. Shafqat Ahrar is a Lecturer and Group Leader in Immunology at the University of Sheffield Hallam, affiliated with the School of Biosciences and Chemistry within the College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences. His research focuses on immune cell regulation in inflammatory diseases like psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, with expertise in innate lymphoid cells, γδ T cells, and skin inflammation models. He employs advanced techniques such as RNA sequencing and flow cytometry. Dr. Ahrar also actively teaches immunology courses across multiple undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including BSc and MSc degrees in Biomedical Sciences and related fields.

Research Interests: Dr. Ahrar’s work investigates immune mechanisms in skin inflammation and autoimmune diseases. His lab develops in vitro models to study immune dynamics in inflamed environments, emphasizing translational applications.
