Shabana Ali

Shabana Ali is Senior Lecturer at Buckinghamshire New University, joining in 2018 after roles as senior lecturer in health and social care across further and higher education institutions. With background as registered nurse in surgical and nursing home settings, she specializes in research pedagogy for nursing students and apprentices.

Her research examines innovative teaching methodologies including murder mystery games for group reflection, lateral thinking puzzles for creative development, and millennial-focused research instruction. She coordinates European nursing placements through the Erasmus program, facilitating international clinical experiences.

Recent scholarship explores artificial intelligence applications in nursing education, with conference presentations examining student experiences with AI tools. She holds professional registrations with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and Royal College of Nursing and is Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
