Dr. Shaan Bibi Jaffri is a Research Fellow in the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. Her research focuses on synthesizing energy materials for electrochemical and photovoltaic systems, including all-inorganic perovskites, metal oxides, and nano-composites. She investigates their applications in electro-catalysis, supercapacitors, batteries, and perovskite solar cells. Currently, she leads an EPSRC-funded project exploring sustainable battery materials using a novel thermally regenerative electrochemical cycle (TREC). Her work emphasizes cost-effective, anti-corrosive, and non-toxic redox couples for energy storage systems.
Education: PhD in Chemistry from Fatima Jinnah Women University (2024), followed by a visiting research scholar position at Queen Mary University of London (2022). Professional activities include contributions to conferences on redox flow battery systems and electrochemical energy conversion.
Her research expertise aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in affordable and clean energy (SDG 7) and industry innovation (SDG 9). She collaborates on projects addressing energy storage challenges and material stability enhancements through lanthanide doping.
