Seyhan YILMAZ is a Professor in the Ceramics and Glass Department at Kastamonu University's Faculty of Fine Arts and Design in Turkey. With over two decades of academic experience, she has progressed through the ranks from Research Assistant to full Professor, demonstrating significant contributions to ceramic art education and practice.

Her educational background includes a PhD in Ceramics from Hacettepe University (2008), a Master's degree in Ceramics (1999), and a BA in Applied Arts Education from Gazi University (1994). She has served in various administrative roles including Department Chair and Erasmus Coordinator.
Professor YILMAZ's research focuses on ceramics and glass, interdisciplinary art, and plastic arts, with particular interest in the transformation of organic forms into ceramic objects, trompe l'oeil techniques, and the relationship between traditional Turkish ceramic art and contemporary practice. Her work bridges historical techniques with modern artistic expression, often exploring nature-inspired forms and the aesthetic evolution from stone to clay.

As a thesis advisor, Professor YILMAZ has guided multiple Master's students through their research in ceramic art. She has also led several research projects including 'Historical Independence Road and Campus Digital Museum' (2022-2024) and 'Use of Ilgaz Mountain and Regional Clays in Ceramic Bodies' (2018-2019), demonstrating her commitment to both theoretical and practical ceramic research.
Her artistic practice is extensive, with over 180 documented artistic events including numerous international and national exhibitions. Her work often features nature-inspired ceramic forms, particularly tree motifs, and explores the relationship between ceramic art and environmental themes.
