Sevgi ŞENGÜL AYAN is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Antalya Bilim University. She serves as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences and leads research in Biomathematics, focusing on Computational Neuroscience and Dynamical Systems Analysis.
- Bachelor's: Mathematics, Dokuz Eylül University (2005)
- Master's: Mathematics and Computer Science, Florida State University (2010)
- PhD: Mathematics/Biomathematics, Florida State University (2014)
Her research explores the mathematical modeling of electrically excitable cells (neurons, cardiomyocytes) and dynamical systems analysis. Key subfields include Computational Neuroscience, Ion Channel Dynamics, and Cardiac Electrophysiology.
Recent publications (2020–2024) emphasize interdisciplinary applications of machine learning, differential equations, and statistical methods to neuroscience and cardiology. Topics include action potential modeling, neuronal noise analysis, and cardiac hypertrophy studies.
She is establishing the Computational Electrophysiology Laboratory at Antalya Bilim University with funding from TÜBİTAK 3501. Her work bridges mathematical theory, computational biology, and biomedical applications.
