معرفی
Dr. Seung Seo Lee is Associate Professor of Chemical Biology at the University of Southampton, specializing in antimicrobial resistance and enzyme mechanisms. His research develops innovative strategies to combat antibiotic-resistant pathogens through bacterial signaling pathway manipulation and targeted drug delivery systems.
His work focuses on enzymatic glycosylation processes, bacterial metabolism targeting, and Trojan horse antibiotic delivery methods. Current projects investigate activation of bacterial signaling pathways to reverse resistance mechanisms and nutrient channel exploitation for targeted antibacterial delivery.
Lee's publications demonstrate consistent focus on enzyme engineering, pathogen metabolism, and novel antimicrobial approaches. Recent work includes development of virucidal sprays, PET imaging for tuberculosis, and fluorinated carbohydrate chemistry.
He teaches postgraduate courses in Chemical Biology and supervises 7 PhD students in antibiotic development and enzyme engineering. Research funding includes grants from MRC, BBSRC, and Wellcome Trust supporting international collaborations in antimicrobial discovery.
