Seung Hyun Lee serves as Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Quality at East Carolina University's School of Hospitality Leadership within the College of Business. With industry experience in lodging, food and beverage, and airline sectors prior to entering academia in 2010, she brings practical expertise to her academic role in Greenville, North Carolina.
Her educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Hospitality Management from the University of Central Florida
- M.S. in Hospitality Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas
- B.S. in Hospitality Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas
Dr. Lee's research focuses on decision-making processes, revenue optimization strategies, consumer value perception, lodging operational efficiency, social media applications, and pedagogical innovations in hospitality education. Her extensive publication record of 55 peer-reviewed journal articles demonstrates significant contributions to hospitality management scholarship. She teaches core courses including Hospitality Law, Current Issues in Hospitality Management, and Hospitality Marketing across undergraduate and graduate programs.
Professional leadership includes serving as Director of Research for the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (ICHRIE) from 2020-2022 and currently chairing ICHRIE's Conference Submission Review Committee, reflecting active engagement in advancing the hospitality academic community.
