Seung-Hwan Lee

Dr. Seung-Hwan Lee is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa. His research focuses on natural killer (NK) cell biology, immunotherapy, and immunometabolism.

• PhD from University of Ottawa
• Postdoctoral Fellow at Brown University, USA

Research interests include: NK cell maturation, metabolic reprogramming during infections, functional analysis of NK cells in viral diseases (HCV, HIV, CMV, Influenza), and development of CAR-NK cell therapies for cancer and chronic infections. The Lee Immunology Laboratory investigates mechanisms of cytokine signaling, immunoregulation, and inflammation in NK cell responses.

The lab collaborates with clinical investigators to translate findings into immunotherapeutic applications, including therapeutic engagers and monoclonal antibodies targeting tumor-specific antigens.
