Dr. Seth Bromagen is an Assistant Professor of Zoology at Kentucky Wesleyan University. He holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolution from Rutgers University (2022), an MS in Biology (2015), and a BS in Biology (2012) from Morehead State University. His research integrates parasitology, ecology, and ichthyology to explore the sexual systems of parasites, host-parasite interactions, and community dynamics in aquatic ecosystems.
- Education: PhD (Rutgers), MS (Morehead State), BS (Morehead State)
Dr. Bromagen specializes in the ecology and evolutionary biology of fish-associated parasites. His work examines how parasites respond to environmental stressors like pollution, their reproductive strategies, and interactions within host communities. Current studies focus on Monogenoidea parasites in bluegill sunfish and minnows.
His recent publications highlight trends in parasite body size, infracommunity density, and environmental impacts on aquatic parasite populations. Research methodologies combine fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and theoretical modeling.
