معرفی
Seth Andrew Major is a Professor in the Department of Physics at Hamilton College, where he has been on the faculty since 2000. His research focuses on quantum gravity, particularly loop quantum gravity and its phenomenology, including the structure of spacetime, quantum geometry, and observational consequences of quantum gravity models.
- Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from Pennsylvania State University (1997)
- M.S. in Physics from Syracuse University (1993)
- B.A. in Physics and Philosophy from Swarthmore College (1991)
Major’s research explores the intersection of quantum mechanics and general relativity, emphasizing quantum gravity, causal sets, and modified dispersion relations. He actively engages undergraduates in research, focusing on quantum geometry and its implications for observational physics.
The articles in his publication record span quantum gravity phenomenology, causal set cosmology, spin networks, and topological quantum field theories. These works align with keywords such as Theoretical Physics, Quantum Gravity, and Mathematical Physics.
Scientific Awards
- Dean’s Scholarly Achievement Award for Early Career Achievement (2012)
- Cottrell Science Grant (2002, renewed 2005)
- Class of 1966 Career Development Award (2002)
