Sertel ALTUN serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Educational Sciences at Yildiz Technical University's Faculty of Education, where she has taught undergraduate, master's, and doctoral courses since 2005. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree from Yildiz Technical University's Faculty of Education, Department of Educational Sciences, followed by consecutive Master's and Doctoral degrees in Curriculum and Instruction at the university's Social Sciences Institute.
Dr. ALTUN's research centers on curriculum development and instructional design, with pioneering work in Understanding by Design (UbD) methodology. She champions teacher-led school development models through her 'Tasarımcı Öğretmen' (Teacher as Designer) learning community, emphasizing that sustainable educational change requires teachers to co-create and implement classroom-specific models.
