Serla Balkarlı

Serla Balkarlı is a Professor at the Piano Department of the State Conservatory, Anadolu University, where she has been a faculty member since 2002. She has held administrative roles including Chair of the Piano Main Art Department, Head of the Music Department, and Deputy Director of the State Conservatory and the Institute of Fine Arts.

• Education: Initial piano training at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory; Specialist Diploma at Conservatoire National de la Region de Strasbourg; Doctorate in Musical Arts at the University of Arizona.

Balkarlı specializes in piano performance, accompaniment, chamber music, and music education. Her research integrates pedagogical approaches with performance practice, emphasizing collaborative artistry.

She has received scientific recognition, including the Pierre Lantier International Piano Competition prize, and has performed extensively with orchestras such as the Ankara State Conservatory Symphony Orchestra and Anadolu University Symphony Orchestra. Her work also spans media engagement, hosting the 'Music Table' program on Borusan Classical Radio since 2017.
