Serife Eti

Serife Eti, MD is a Clinical Associate Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Medical Director of the Palliative Medicine Program at Montefiore Medical Center. Her expertise spans Hospice & Palliative Medicine, Cancer, and Family Practice. She holds a medical degree from Istanbul University School of Medicine, with residency training at Montefiore's Department of Family and Social Medicine, followed by fellowship training in Pain Medicine and Palliative Care at Beth Israel Medical Center and a postdoctoral fellowship in Pharmacology at Cornell University Medical College.

Her research focuses on hospital-based palliative care, particularly in advanced cancer and heart failure patients, with emphasis on symptom management, outcomes research, and quality improvement initiatives. She has contributed to studies on palliative care integration in cardiac surgery (LVAD patients), dialysis deferment strategies, gynecologic malignancy care, and acute palliative care unit outcomes.

Dr. Eti’s clinical practices are located at multiple Montefiore campuses including Montefiore Medical Center, Weiler Hospital, and Wakefield Campus. Her work bridges academic research and clinical practice, emphasizing education in palliative care for medical trainees and optimizing healthcare delivery systems.
