معرفی
Serif Uran is a Professor in the Department of Physics at Pittsburg State University. He teaches a range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Engineering Physics, Modern Physics, Quantum Mechanics, and Solid State Physics. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2000.
Dr. Uran's research focuses on experimental solid state physics, particularly high-temperature oxidation of metals and magnetoresistive thin films. He investigates native oxide layers for corrosion protection and explores superlattice structures to manipulate magnetization for applications in computer read heads. His work also spans critical phenomena in binary liquid mixtures and graphene studies.
As an advisor for the Society of Physics Students (SPS), he has led the Pittsburg State chapter to national recognition, securing $4,000 in research grants. The chapter is also affiliated with the Sigma Pi Sigma honor society.
