Serhat Gül is an Associate Professor at TED University's Faculty of Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Sabancı University (2006), and M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University (2007, 2010). Prior to joining TED University, he worked at Northeastern University’s Healthcare Systems Engineering Institute (2010–2011), Georgia Institute of Technology (2011–2013) as a postdoctoral researcher, and Sabancı University (2013–2014) and University of Massachusetts Amherst (2023–2024) as a visiting faculty member.
Dr. Gül specializes in stochastic optimization and its applications in healthcare operations and public health planning. His research has been published in journals such as Production and Operations Management, INFORMS Journal on Computing, and European Journal of Operational Research. He has received grants from TÜBİTAK and TED University-BAP for his projects. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at TED University, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Massachusetts Amherst, Northeastern University, Sabancı University, and Yeditepe University.
His teaching portfolio includes courses like Engineering Economy & Cost Analysis, Decision and Risk Analysis, Simulation, and Decision Making in Health Care across multiple semesters (2014–2025). He has also supervised senior projects and summer practice modules.
