Sergio M. Figueiredo

Sergio M. Figueiredo is an Assistant Professor at the Chair of Architectural History and Theory in the Department of the Built Environment at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He holds dual roles as Associate Professor in Built Environment and Living Cities. His work bridges academic research with public engagement, focusing on architectural exhibitions and cultural institutions.

Education:

• PhD in Architectural History and Theory (UCLA, 2014)
• MSc in Architecture (Academy of Architecture, Amsterdam)
• MSc in Architecture and Urbanism (Technical University of Lisbon)

Research Interests: Architectural history, museums/exhibitions, curatorial practices, public communication of architecture, and institutional structures in architectural culture. His current project, 'The Taxonomy of Architectural Exhibitions,' examines how architecture is communicated through exhibitions over the past 30 years.

Advising & Grants: Supervised 50+ academic works and coordinates TU/e's research seminars. His projects often combine archival and algorithmic methods to analyze architectural communication.
