Sergi Valera Pertegas

Sergi Valera Pertegas is a Professor at the University of Barcelona's Department of Social Psychology and Quantitative Psychology, part of the Faculty of Psychology. His research focuses on environmental psychology, urban sociology, and the symbolic dimensions of public spaces. He leads the PsicoSAO research group and contributes to the GUIDE ME teaching innovation group.

Education includes a PhD in Social Psychology (1993) and master's degrees from the University of Barcelona. His teaching spans undergraduate and graduate levels, covering Environmental Psychology, Urban Design, and Psychosocial Intervention.

Research projects include analyzing public space value systems (EU-funded), urban insecurity in marginalized areas (MARGIN project), and the relationship between public space and civic memory. His work bridges quantitative methods with qualitative social analysis.
