Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratoryمعرفی
Sergey I. Alekhin is a Research Professor at the Institute for High Energy Physics (IHEP) in Serpukhov, Russia, with collaborative affiliations at Universität Hamburg's Institute for Theoretical Physics II. He earned his PhD from IHEP in 1999 under the supervision of Semen S. Gershtein and Andrei L. Kataev.
His research focuses on precision aspects of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and particle physics phenomenology, including:
- Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) and global QCD analyses
- Top-quark mass extraction and production cross-sections
- Nuclear corrections and higher-twist effects in structure functions
- Heavy-flavor physics and Drell-Yan processes
- Development of the ABMP/ABM PDF fitting framework
Alekhin maintains active collaborations with major experimental groups including NOMAD, SeaQuest, and the LHeC Study Group. His recent work emphasizes next-to-next-to-leading-order (NNLO) QCD corrections and the integration of LHC data into precision theoretical predictions. He has co-authored over 140 publications spanning particle physics phenomenology, QCD theory, and nuclear structure effects.
