Dr Serena Vandi is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Oxford's Department of Italian, specializing in Dante Alighieri and Carlo Emilio Gadda. Her research examines the intersection of satire, power, and truth in literature with a focus on anti-fascist works. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Leeds and has taught Italian language and literature at various levels, including Dante studies and crime fiction.

Award-winning academic activities include editorial roles for *The Italianist* and leadership in the Society for Italian Studies. Dissemination efforts include public lectures and podcasts translating scholarly work to broader audiences.
