Professor Serdar OLT is a distinguished academic in the field of Internal Medicine at Adıyaman University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medical Sciences. Born in Kahta/Adıyaman, he completed his medical education at Gaziantep University (2001-2008) followed by specialization training in Internal Medicine at Sakarya University (2009-2013). His academic career at Adıyaman University progressed from Assistant Professor (2015-2019) to Associate Professor (2019-2024) and most recently to Professor (2024-present).
Dr. OLT's research primarily focuses on endocrine disorders, diabetes management, and metabolic syndrome. His work examines the relationship between inflammatory markers and metabolic conditions, thyroid disorders, and the effects of bariatric surgery on diabetes outcomes. He has published extensively on topics including vitamin B12 deficiency in diabetic patients, chemerin gene polymorphisms, and thyroid-related conditions. His research demonstrates a consistent pattern of investigating the intersection between metabolic health and inflammatory processes.
His publication record includes over 50 articles, with particularly influential work on neutrophil/lymphocyte ratios in diagnosis and inflammatory markers in metabolic conditions. His research has been cited internationally, with his study on neutrophil lymphocyte ratio in brucellosis diagnosis receiving 18 citations.
