His research explores laser cooling transitions, magneto-optical traps, and dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates. Notably, he contributed to creating ultracold dysprosium gases, a highly magnetic system enabling studies of dipolar quantum phenomena.
His publications in Physical Review Letters and Physical Review A demonstrate expertise in anisotropic cooling, quantum trapping, and spectroscopy of rare-earth atoms. These works have been highlighted in Nature Research Highlights and PhysicsWorld.
Current work investigates dysprosium quantum gases for applications in quantum computing and dipolar physics. Collaborations include researchers like B.L. Lev and Jungsang Kim at Duke University.
