Sema Dumanlı Oktar is an Associate Professor in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at Boğaziçi University, where she leads the Antennas and Propagation Research Laboratory (BOUNtenna). Her research focuses on antenna design for biomedical applications including implantable devices, wearable technology, and body area networks.
She teaches courses in antenna theory, electromagnetic field theory, and wireless communications. Current projects include DIAMOND (intelligent orthopedic implants) and molecular-level in-body sensing systems funded by national research programs.
Her lab develops cutting-edge solutions for health monitoring through wireless sensing technologies and electromagnetic wave propagation modeling.
