Dr. Selver Mertoğlu is a Turkish academician currently serving as an Associate Professor at the Department of Journalism, Faculty of Communication, Kastamonu University since 2023. She also holds administrative roles as Department Head and Academic Advisor for PhD students since 2025. Her academic career includes teaching at various levels (Doctoral, Master's, and Bachelor's) with a focus on digital media, media ethics, and transmedia storytelling.

Her research centers on digital media ethics, gender representation in digital spaces, social media's political impact, and cultural transformations in media. With over 41 publications including 8 articles, 22 book chapters, and 10 conference papers, her work spans media policy, digital citizenship, and socio-cultural implications of new technologies. Collaborations include researchers Ömer Alanka and Meryem Altıntaş. YÖKSİS metrics rank her 309th in Social Sciences with 16 citations.
