Selin GÜLDEN

Asst. Prof. Selin GÜLDEN is an academic at Izmir University of Economics (IUE), affiliated with the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design within the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. She holds a PhD in Industrial Product Design from Istanbul Technical University and has professional experience at DEGW Italy, specializing in workspace design. Her roles at IUE include teaching courses like Visionary Interior Architecture Studies and Design Semiotics, and she has served as a Research Assistant and Lecturer before attaining her current rank in 2023.

Education: BSc in Interior Architecture (Bilkent University, 2006), MSc in Product-Service System Design (Politecnico di Milano, 2009), PhD in Industrial Product Design (Istanbul Technical University, 2022).

Research focuses on Design-Led Innovation in family businesses, Product-Service Systems (PSS), AI’s impact on product development, and workplace design for generational needs. Notable work includes studies on Turkish furniture manufacturers’ innovation strategies and Gen Y workplace solutions. She has published in journals like Journal of Brand Management and Design Journal, with ongoing contributions to design theory and practice.

Her courses emphasize futuristic design thinking, semiotics, and graduation project supervision. Current research explores AI-driven design processes and family firm dynamics in emerging markets.
