Selim Aksoy is a Professor and Chair at the Department of Computer Engineering at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington in 2001 and has held academic roles at institutions including the University of Washington as a Visiting Associate Professor (2013) and Insightful Corporation as a Research Scientist (2001-2003).
Research Interests: His work focuses on computer vision, statistical and structural pattern recognition, machine learning, and data mining, with applications in object recognition, image and video classification, remote sensing image analysis, and medical imaging.
