معرفی
Sejong Yoon is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at The College of New Jersey, where he joined in Fall 2016. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 2016, M.S. in Computer Science from Sogang University in 2009, and B.Eng in Computer Science from Sogang University in 2007.
His research bridges Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Human Behavior Modeling, focusing on reconciling individual decision-making with group-level behavior through Generalized Computational Models. Current research areas include Crowd Motion Analysis, Distributed Machine Learning, and Multimedia Analysis, with applications in Medical Informatics from earlier work.
Recent publications demonstrate expertise in crowd simulation, trajectory prediction, and few-shot segmentation using advanced machine learning techniques. His work combines environmental analysis, behavioral modeling, and multi-agent systems to create realistic simulations and predictive frameworks.
- 2024: Best Reviewer Award, IEEE FG 2018
As active mentor, he supervises numerous undergraduate research projects and capstone teams, with many students transitioning to prestigious positions at companies like Google, Amazon, and Bloomberg. His NSF grant #1955365 supports research on Crowd-Space Embeddings, while serving on multiple curriculum and research committees.
