Seffetullah Kuldas

Seffetullah Kuldas serves as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), actively contributing to the longitudinal Trondheim Early Secure Study (TESS). This project tracks 1,250 Norwegian children born in 2003-2004 and their parents to examine psychosocial development, mental health, and health behaviors from childhood through emerging adulthood.

His research focuses on identifying individual and environmental factors underlying physical activity-sleep dynamics while extensively investigating digital well-being. Key interests include cyberbullying prevention mechanisms, parental mediation strategies for children's internet use, and adolescent online risk behaviors. Analysis of his 2022-2024 publications reveals consistent contributions to bullying prevention and online safety research. He has developed and validated measurement tools like the Dublin Anti-bullying Self-Efficacy Scales (DABSE) while establishing transactional frameworks for parental mediation. His studies frequently utilize European datasets such as EU Kids Online, employing bifactor modeling and item response theory to address complex psychosocial phenomena.

Kuldas collaborates internationally within the TESS project framework, working with researchers across Ireland, Norway, and other European institutions. His team investigates developmental pathways through longitudinal data collection while addressing contemporary challenges like pandemic-related online schooling impacts and adolescent sexting behaviors through rigorous empirical analysis.
