Dr. Sebastian Stevens is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Plymouth's School of Nursing and Midwifery within the Faculty of Health. Specializing in mixed-methods social research, his work focuses on digital healthcare innovation, implementation of health technologies, and addressing social challenges in aging populations. He holds a PhD in Medical Education (awaiting viva), MSc in Social Research (with Merit), and BSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice with Social Research.
His research explores digital health ecosystems, particularly through the EPIC project, and investigates loneliness reduction strategies for rural elderly communities. He has contributed to studies on multisource feedback in medical assessment, patient feedback impacts, and telemedicine during the pandemic. Stevens is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), emphasizing his commitment to academic excellence.
Teaching emphases include social science research methods and social network analysis at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels across multiple departments. His recent publications (2021–2024) address health data sharing in sickle cell disorder, telehealth effectiveness, and rural community wellbeing, reflecting his interdisciplinary approach to healthcare innovation.
