Sebastian Seipel

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Seipel is a faculty member at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Bochum University of Applied Sciences, and leads the Institute for Mobility and Transport Systems. He serves in key administrative roles, including Chairman of the Election Committee and member of the Senate and Department Council for Civil and Environmental Engineering.

• Research Focus: Transport infrastructure, traffic flow optimization, climate-resilient urban planning, data-driven mobility solutions, and sustainable development.
• Projects: Co-led the KapaKrit project (2018-2022) on crisis-ready transport systems and currently directs the Bausteine computergestützter Datenanalyse (2023-2025) for OERContent.nrw.
• Teaching: Offers modules like "Construction and Operation of Transport Facilities," "Planning and Design of Transport Systems," and "Traffic Control," with a focus on road safety, noise protection, and IT in transport.

Students: Supervises over 50 theses (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) annually, collaborating with municipal authorities (e.g., Bochum, Essen, Dortmund) and agencies like the Autobahn GmbH des Bundes and Landesbetrieb Straßenbau NRW.
