Sebastián Sclofsky is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at California State University, Stanislaus. He specializes in state violence, police brutality, socio-economic inequalities, and racism, with a focus on Brazil, the U.S., and South America's Southern Cone. His work examines the adoption of US policing strategies in Latin America and the impact of punitive policies on marginalized communities. Sclofsky holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Florida (2018) and a Law degree from Universidad de la República in Uruguay (2001). He has received numerous awards, including the Elizabeth Anne Papageorge Faculty Development Award for research excellence.
