Prof. Dr. Sebastian Schwamberger is an Assistant Professor of Civil Law, Commercial Law, and Digitalization Law at the University of Rostock's Faculty of Law. He leads the Junior Professorship focused on these areas, emphasizing digital legal frameworks and European Union regulations. His research addresses challenges in private enforcement of digital single market laws, data governance, and AI-related legal issues.
Research Interests: His work spans digital law, commercial law, and civil law, with particular attention to GDPR compliance, digital services regulation, and intellectual property in the context of AI. He has published on private enforcement mechanisms under EU directives and co-developed principles for copyright and data protection in generative AI.
Recent Activities:
- Organized the 'Enforcement of Rights in the Digital Space' conference (2024).
- Co-edited the conference proceedings on private enforcement in the Digital Single Market.
- Presented at the 2025 GPAI Co-Generated Data Principles webinar, co-developing principles for generative AI legal frameworks.
