Dr. Sebastian Schuol is a researcher at the Institute for Applied Sciences and Humanities (ZIWIS) of Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), where he has worked since March 2017. Previously, he coordinated the EURAT group (ethical and legal aspects of genome sequencing) at Heidelberg University of Applied Sciences and Arts (ZIWiS) until 2023. His academic background includes a PhD in philosophy from Tübingen's International Center for Ethics in the Sciences and Humanities, focusing on the implications of epigenetics for biophilosophy and bioethics.

His research spans the theory and history of science, ethics of genetics, and interdisciplinary analysis of scientific discourse.
