Sebastian Rinke

Sebastian Rinke has served as a Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Media of Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK Leipzig) since 2024. His career spans roles in both academia and industry, including software development at Philips Medical Systems (2021–2023) and IBM (2020–2021), postdoctoral research at TU Darmstadt (2018–2023), and academic positions at RWTH Aachen and Research Center Jülich. He earned his doctorate in Computer Science (Dr. rer. nat.) from Chemnitz University of Technology in 2018.

Research interests include digital transformation, media technology, and software engineering, with a focus on applications in educational technology and information systems. His work aligns with projects like surfaceCollege and E-Assessment, which aim to digitize higher education.

Sebastian Rinke contributed to the redesign of the Egyptian Museum website at Leipzig University (2010–2011), collaborating with students and Egyptology experts. He is a member of the Computer Science Examination Board and participates in interdisciplinary initiatives like STIGA 22 and Global Game Jam.
