Dr. Sebastian Plappert is the Executive Director of the DSF programme at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland, within the School of Economics and Political Science (SEPS). He holds a Ph.D. in International Affairs and Political Economy from HSG and has taught various courses, including International Security, History of International Order, and Qualitative Methods. His research focuses on humanitarian interventions, international order, and the evolution of International Relations theories.

Research Interests: Dr. Plappert explores the intersection of justice and order in international society, particularly through case studies of humanitarian interventions. He examines how states balance moral responsibilities with systemic stability, drawing on English School concepts and historical analyses of international relations. His work also addresses contemporary challenges in global security and the evolution of international norms.
Teaching & Projects: He leads seminars on international security, order, and theoretical frameworks. Current projects include investigating progress in International Relations and the hierarchical dynamics of international order.
