Prof. Dr. Sebastian Goerg is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Chair of Economics at TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability. He holds affiliations with the IZA Institute of Labor Economics and the MPI for Research on Collective Goods. His research focuses on behavioral and experimental economics, examining how incentives, information, and institutions influence human behavior. His interdisciplinary work spans social and natural sciences.
Education & Career: Studied economics at the University of Bonn (PhD under Nobel laureate Reinhard Selten). Research positions included the Max Planck Institute (2009-2012). Served as an Assistant Professor at Florida State University (2012-2018), gaining tenure before moving to TUM in 2018 as Associate Professor.
Research Interests: Behavioral economics, experimental methods, incentive design, and sustainable policy analysis. Recent work explores climate policy acceptance, mobility experiments (e.g., 9-Euro-Ticket), and dishonesty dynamics.
