Prof. Dr. Sebastian Geisler serves as Assistant Professor in the Institute of Mathematics at the University of Potsdam, leading the Didactics of Mathematics II working group. His research employs empirical methodologies to investigate mathematical learning processes across school and university settings, with particular emphasis on affective factors influencing educational outcomes.
His primary research domains include:

The working group actively engages in current projects such as AI integration in mathematics teaching, "Thinking Classroom" methodology workshops, and Open Educational Resources development. Prof. Geisler maintains close collaboration with complementary working groups including Didactics of Mathematics (Prof. Ulrich Kortenkamp) and Didactics of Mathematics in Inclusive Contexts (Prof. Birte Friedrich).
