Sean McCormick is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, MI. He serves as the Assistant Residency Director for the Detroit Receiving Hospital (DRH) Residency Program and contributes to clinical education and research.

Research & Clinical Interests: Dr. McCormick focuses on improving diagnostic accuracy through artificial intelligence in emergency medicine, particularly in intracranial hemorrhage detection. His work also explores sepsis care and clinical decision-making in critical scenarios.
Scientific Awards & Recognition: He has received multiple teaching awards, including the 2022 Wayne State University Teacher of the Year and the 2019 Lawrence R. Schwartz, MD Teacher of the Year. His 2014 poster presentation on physician gestalt in cardiac arrest outcomes was recognized at the Regional SAEM conference.
Service & Leadership: Dr. McCormick actively participates in institutional committees such as the STEMI Committee and Clinical Competency Committee. He also serves as a Mock Oral Boards Examiner for the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians.
