Sean E Noonan

Dr. Sean Noonan is a part-time Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Dental Medicine, Department of Restorative Dentistry and Comprehensive Care, since fall 2023. Previously, he served as a full-time Assistant Professor from 2010 to 2023, directing the Clinical Restorative Dentistry Course Series and leading dental student clinical progression. He represented his department as a global liaison to the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs and Curriculum and participated in key committees like Infection Control, Quality Improvement, and Admissions.

• Educated at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry (DDS, 2005) and West Virginia University (Bus-Econo, 1989)

His research and practice focus on evidence-based dentistry (EBD), instructional material development for clinical dentistry, and interdisciplinary collaboration across Restorative, Periodontics, Endodontics, and Prosthodontics. He also practices one day a week at the University Dental Health Services faculty practice and serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserves.
