Seamus Martin

Seamus Martin is the Smurfit Professor of Genetics at Trinity College Dublin since 1999. His research explores programmed cell death, inflammation, and cancer, with a focus on apoptosis, autophagy, necrosis, and cytokine biology.

Research Interests: The Martin laboratory investigates the intersection of cell death, inflammation, and cancer, pioneering techniques like annexin V-labelling for apoptosis detection and elucidating caspase cascades, IL-36 cytokine mechanisms, and ER stress responses.
