Scott T. Leutenegger is a Professor of Computer Science and Director of the Ritchie School JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) initiative at the University of Denver. He holds a PhD in Computer Science (University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1990) and a BFA in Studio Art (University of Denver, 2015). His career includes roles at IBM, NASA, and multiple universities.
Research & Education: Leutenegger’s work bridges technical and societal domains, focusing on JEDI in STEM education, text mining, and computational art. His spatial-temporal database research influenced commercial products, and his most cited work pioneered new indexing methods. He integrates DEI into technical coursework, as seen in his text-mining assignment intervention published in SIGCSE '21.
