Scott Longing, Associate Professor of Entomology at Texas Tech University's Department of Plant and Soil Science, focuses on insect biodiversity assessment, conservation, and restoration in southern U.S. ecosystems. His lab investigates pollinator networks, sustainable agriculture, and aquatic beetle ecology.

Research Interests center on native bee conservation, plant-pollinator interactions, and ecosystem services in cotton production. His work also explores karstic habitat diving beetles and their evolutionary pathways.
Outreach & Teaching includes supervising FFA entomology events since 2013 and teaching Intro to Entomology and Pesticides. Current lab members include graduate researchers working on Monahans Sandhills endemics, South Llano River pollinators, and Turkey habitat invertebrates.
