Dr. Scott Jones is an Assistant Professor of Finance and Foust Professor of Business at West Texas A&M University's Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business. He joined the university in 2022 after completing his Ph.D. in Finance at the University of Arizona. His industry background includes financial analysis at HP Inc. where he specialized in financial modeling and process automation.
Dr. Jones's research examines behavioral barriers to stock market participation through the lenses of household finance and behavioral economics. His current projects investigate how crime perception and debt psychology influence financial decision-making. Recent publications analyze impulsivity in investment behavior and crime's impact on household economics.
