Scott Jensen is a Research Fellow at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, advised by Yoram Alhassid. His research focuses on the unitary Fermi gas (UFG) and the BCS-BEC crossover in ultracold atomic Fermi gases. He employs lattice auxiliary-field quantum Monte Carlo (AFMC) methods to study strongly correlated systems, emphasizing thermodynamic properties like pairing gaps, condensate fractions, and Tan’s contact. His work addresses pseudogap phenomena and experimental validations in neutron star matter and QCD plasmas.
Using novel AFMC optimizations, Jensen extrapolates to the continuum limit, resolving systematic errors. His findings suggest a narrower pseudogap regime than previously proposed, with T* ~0.17 TF and Tc=0.153(7)TF. His studies align with experimental contact measurements, advancing understanding of superfluidity in strongly correlated systems.
