Associate Professor Scott Clark is the Discipline Head of Psychiatry at the University of Adelaide and coordinates the Psychiatry program within the Adelaide Medical School. He is a consultant psychiatrist in the Western Community Mental Health Service and holds an academic position in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. His research focuses on biomarkers, clinical trials, and prediction of outcomes in severe mental illnesses, with a particular emphasis on psychosis and schizophrenia.
Key projects include leadership in studies like the Cognitive and Functional Assessment of Psychosis Staging Study (CoFAPSS), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Electrophysiology in Mood and Psychosis Study (TEMAPS), and collaborations with international consortia such as COnLiGen (Lithium Genetics). He has received significant funding from bodies like NHMRC, NIMH, and the Wellcome Trust for initiatives like the Cannibidiol for Youth at Risk (CanARY) study and clozapine-related cardiac research.
